Samuel Lutheran students have Christmas concert

Samuel Lutheran School held its annual Cookie Decorating with Grandparents on Friday, Dec. 6. Grandparents brought in cookies and supplies to decorate all of the cookies which were used as a snack for the Christmas concert that was Sunday, Dec. 8. Samuel students played piano before the concert, had multiple instrumental pieces that were played, then each classroom sung songs, and the concert ended with a whole school performance. The concert had the theme “Christ is Coming” to remind all present the reason that we celebrate this Christmas season.

Kirby Schmidt receives national ag educators award

The National Association of Agricultural Educators is a federation of state agricultural educators associations with more than 7,800 members. Members are involved in school-based agricultural education at any level, from middle school through postsecondary, and state and national agricultural education leaders. TLCS Christmas choir and band concert is Monday

The public is invited to True Light Christian School’s Christmas choir and band concert. Kindergarten through eighth-graders will participate in this event at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Grace Life Worship Center at 601 E. College Drive in Marshall.

‘Tuba Christmas’ concert is Dec. 14

The annual Southwest Minnesota State University “Tuba Christmas” concert will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Student Center, upper level. Participation for this band is open to all low brass players regardless of age or experience. There is a $10 fee for participation in the event. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., and rehearsal from 10-11:30 a.m. The concert is free and open to the public. ‘Star of Wonder’ Planetarium shows at SMSU

A series of Planetarium Christmas and laser light shows titled “Star of Wonder” will take place at Southwest Minnesota State University during the holiday season.
