One injured in Highway 23 crash

HANLEY FALLS — A Willmar woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 23 Tuesday afternoon, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 1:49 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 23 and Yellow Medicine County Road 1, the State Patrol said. A 2013 Ford Fiesta driven by Ashley Marie Martinez, 30, of Willmar, was northbound on Highway 23 when Martinez stopped to turn left on County Road 1. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Matthew James Austin, 36, of Granite Falls, was also northbound on Highway 23 and struck the Ford, the State Patrol said.

Martinez was transported to Avera Granite Falls with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Hanley Falls Fire and Rescue, and Granite Falls Ambulance all responded at the crash scene
