Crash injures 2 in Yellow Medicine County

YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY — Two people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Minnesota Highway 67 west of Granite Falls, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, the State Patrol said. A 2010 Dodge Journey driven by Melinda Hedman, 42, of Clarkfield, was stopped on Highway 67 to make a left turn onto Yellow Medicine County Road 8, when it was rear-ended by a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Justin Carlson, 39, of Hendricks. After being hit, Hedman’s vehicle went into the oncoming lanes of traffic and struck the rear of a westbound 2015 Ram pickup driven by Jacob Lee, 36, of Granite Falls, the State Patrol said.

Both Hedman and Carlson were taken to the Granite Falls hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office also responded at the crash scene.
