MMS students, staff evacuated

MARSHALL – Marshall Middle School students and staff were evacuated about 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, and the Marshall Fire Department was called on scene after fire alarms sounded.

Emergency responders determined the cause of the alarm was related to a mechanical failure in a pump motor.

The smoke was cleared, and staff and students were allowed to re-enter the building about 12:50 p.m.

No students or staff were in danger and everyone responded quickly, calmly and efficiently, Marshall Public Schools Superintendent Scott Monson said.
