Two injured in Hwy. 23 crash

RUSSELL — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 23, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Two Marshall residents received non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol reported. The crash was reported at 4:03 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 2. A 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Deborah Jane Newton, 69, of Marshall, and a 2018 Toyota Tundra driven by Evan Paul Johnson, 22, of Le Mars, Iowa, were both traveling westbound on Highway 23 when the vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.
