End-O-Line receives grant to repair turntable

CURRIE — The End-O-Line Railroad Museum will receive a grant in the total of $169,843.00 from the Historic Preservation fund through the state of Minnesota, Tribal, and Local grants division for repairs to its hand operated railroad turntable. According to Nicholas Demuth, the End-O-Line Museums director, the federal grant is part of the national register of historical sites that have been damaged by the floods in 2018, 2024 and 2025. MERIT firing range takes step forward

MARSHALL — Plans to build a firearms training range at the Minnesota Emergency Response and Industrial Training Center in Marshall took a step forward this week. On Tuesday, members of the Marshall City Council voted to approve a $172,000 architecture and engineering proposal for the project. Council OKs playground shelter at Aquatic Center site

MARSHALL — As construction on the new Marshall Aquatic Center continues, the city is also making plans for park features outside the aquatic center. On Tuesday, Marshall City Council members voted to award a quote for a shelter that would help provide shade near playground equipment outside the new Aquatic Center. Marshall Parks and Recreation Superintendent Preston Stensrud said Marshall city staff had received an estimate for a park shelter from St. Croix Recreation, of Stillwater. A.C.E. volunteer hours up in Lyon County

MARSHALL — An organization focused on senior citizens and caregivers saw growth in Lyon County over the past year, representatives for A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota said last week. In Lyon County, A.C.E. volunteers provided more than 35,000 hours of service in 2025, said county program manager Jane Nelson Como.
