Pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle in Clifton Township
MARSHALL — A rural Marshall woman died from injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Clifton Township Tuesday evening, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.
Michelle Simmons, 58, of rural Marshall, was pronounced dead after receiving care at the crash scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the collision with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol.
Around 5:21 p.m. Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical services received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on the 3200 block of 240th Street in Clifton Township. At the scene, a woman was found with multiple critical injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said. North Memorial Ambulance and Sheriff’s Office personnel gave emergent care, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was a 20-year-old rural Marshall man, the Sheriff’s Office said. The man was uninjured, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The State Patrol, North Memorial Ambulance, and Marshall Fire Department all responded at the scene.
