SLAYTON — A Garvin man appeared in Murray County District Court this week on sexual assault charges, court records said.

Tony Dee Ammons, 61, appeared in Murray County District court on March 1. Ammons was charged with one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct. A criminal complaint alleges that Ammons sexually assaulted an adult female victim on more than one occasion between December 2021 and March 2023.

Bail for Ammons was set at $250,000 bond or cash without conditions, or $120,000 bond or cash with conditions including that he have no contact with the alleged victim, and stay a reasonable distance away from her residence. A future hearing date was set for March 13.
