The snowplows were out as flakes blew through Marshall on Thursday. A major winter weather event continued to move through South Dakota and Minnesota, with snow and wind leading to slick roadways and poor visibility. Lyon, Lincoln, Pipestone and Murray counties are all included in a winter storm warning in effect through noon today. The National Weather Service forecast wind gusts of more than 40 miles per hour, slowly tapering off this afternoon. Colder temperatures and wind chills are expected over the weekend and into Monday.
