Marshall High School receives shooting threat

MARSHALL — Marshall Public Schools and Marshall Police are investigating a threat of a school shooting received Wednesday, school officials said.

Marshall High School Principal Brian Jones notified MHS families of the threat via an e-mail message today. Late Wednesday, high school administration was alerted to a threat of a school shooting written on the wall of a girls’ bathroom, Jones said.

Jones said the high school is working with Marshall Police to investigate, and there will be increased law enforcement presence at the high school today. MHS will still hold classes today, but out of caution a Snow Week coronation and pep fest has been canceled, Jones said.

Jones directed MHS parents to talk with their children, and contact police or school administration if they have heard or seen anything of concern.

Starting at $3.95/week.
