The fans rooting for the Marshall Tiger volleyball team on Friday night weren’t only in the stands. At Fuzzy’s bar in Marshall, Jean Rickard, at left, reacted as she watched a livestream of the Tigers’ match against Grand Rapids. A few tables of people at Fuzzy’s were watching the Tigers advance to the state volleyball finals.

“It’s nice that they did this,” one spectator said.

Harry Weilage said it was good to see how well the

Tigers have been doing.

“It’s amazing what (coach Dan) Westby’s done,” Weilage said. The Tiger girls have had a strong history of state tournament competition. “And it’s always classy,” Weilage said.

The Tigers had strong leads in each of their sets against Grand Rapids on Friday. But while it didn’t seem like there was a lot of competition Friday, Jane Bock said she was looking forward to the finals.

“Wait until tomorrow,” Bock said.
