Marshall Area Chamber to move back to Main Street

MARSHALL — The Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to move to a new office — but the location is a familiar one for many Marshall residents.

Chamber President Brad Gruhot said the Chamber will be returning to its former location at 317 West Main Street.

“We hope to start moving next week and be in the new office by Nov. 1,” Gruhot said Friday.

The Chamber office and the office of the Marshall convention and visitors bureau used to be on Main Street, before moving to West College Drive and Saratoga Street in 2014. While that space worked well for the past seven years, Gruhot said the Chamber had been planning a move this fall.

“With Visit Marshall moving to the Red Baron Arena, we decided this space was going to be too big for us,” he said. Gruhot said it was a “crazy coincidence” that the Chamber’s exact former address on Main Street was available.

It’s a fun time for the Chamber to be moving back to Main Street, Gruhot said.

“There’s a lot going on Main Street,” he said.

There have been some new businesses opening or moving to new space downtown, as well as upcoming events like the Marshall Downtown Business Association’s “Moonlight Madness” event next week.

Gruhot said the Main Street office will have features like a conference room that Chamber members can use. However, the Chamber will still need some time to get settled in after the move.

Gruhot said the office will likely be closed on Nov. 1, and open its doors Nov. 2.
