Lincoln County Fair features variety of music

TYLER — Lincoln County fairgoers will be able to walk the line this weekend.

Besides the traditional 4-H competitions, ranch rodeo and demolition derby, some Johnny Cash music will fill the Lincoln County outdoor free stage area on Saturday night.

The Gary West Band “For the Love of Cash” will perform at 7 p.m. According to the garywestmusic.com page, the performance will pay homage to Johnny Cash and the legends of country music.

“Gary West is not a Johnny Cash impersonator — he is an entertainer — as well as an impressionist, musician, songwriter, and race car driver,” the web page says. “The band is made up of some of the best in the business; legendary Nashville musicians that have played for dozens of country music legends and Grand Ole Opry stars.”

If polka is more your style, the Larry Olsen Band returns to the fair 4-6 p.m. on Saturday at the Rainbow Pavilion.

Star Fire kicks off fair music at 7 p.m. Friday at the outdoor free stage. The band consists of five musicians performing ’50s and ’60s rock n’ roll in southwest Minnesota.

Lonnie Carpenter will perform oldies, country and gospel music 2:30-4 p.m. at the outdoor free stage Sunday to top off the musical entertainment.
