Firefighters from both the Marshall and Ghent Fire Departments responded at the scene of a fire that destroyed a house on the 900 block of West Main Street Monday night. The fire burned through the roof of the house, while firefighters aimed hoses at the blaze from the ground and overhead on a ladder truck.

Responders cut the electric power to the house, and worked to keep the fire from spreading to houses next door. The fire scene was still active as of 10 p.m. Monday.
