Lundgren named director of Real Estate Development at Duininck Companies
Duininck Companies is a family-owned, multi-generational portfolio of businesses with a vision for growth that inspired the recent addition of a real estate industry sector focus. Tim Lundgren has been named the director of Real Estate Development for the Duininck Companies, which includes Prinsco; Duininck Golf; Duininck, its heavy civil and commercial divisions in the Midwest and Southern U.S.; Duininck Concrete; Hart Ranch Golf Club, and Hart Ranch Development Company.
Lundgren will provide real estate development and related real estate support to the portfolio companies, with most of his effort focused on new development.
Lundgren has over 25 years in the construction industry, completing projects in 23 states and Canada, over 5,700,000 square feet of new class A buildings, and over $1.27 billion of construction. In the wake of the pandemic, Lundgren departed from Life Time Fitness as VP of Construction and began a construction services company while developing several projects of his own.
Brunkhorst selected as district engineer for MnDOT District 8
The Minnesota Department of Transportation selected Kelly Brunkhorst for the position of district engineer in MnDOT District 8. District 8 includes Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, and Yellow Medicine counties.
Brunkhorst began her new role Aug. 19. She replaces Jon Huseby who retired from MnDOT Aug. 16.
The district engineer is responsible for leading planning, design, construction, maintenance, and all operations of District 8, as well as providing strategic direction to the department. Brunkhorst looks forward to building and strengthening relationships in her new role and continuing to partner with cities, counties, and elected officials to improve transportation throughout the region.
Brunkhorst graduated with a degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University, Fargo. She worked at the North Dakota Department of Transportation and as the Brown County assistant county engineer before starting with MnDOT in 2000. Her most recent position was assistant district engineer — construction.
Brunkhorst and her husband, John, have three children.
Hoffman & Brobst announces new staff members
Hoffman & Brobst, Certified Public Accountants, announced the addition of new staff members. Jacqueline Gossen is a staff accountant. A graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University, she joined the firm in 2022 as an intern. She transitioned to a fulltime employee in May 2023 with interests in all areas including audit and tax. She is currently studying for the CPA exam.
Emily Maciel is a staff accountant. She is currently a senior at SMSU and will receive her bachelor’s degree in accounting this fall. She is currently on the SMSU women’s soccer team. Originally from Long Beach, California, she moved to southwest Minnesota in 2020 and now resides in Marshall.
