Marshall man opens biomagnetism therapy business
MARSHALL – Most people seem to be skeptical of alternative health therapies and need positive results as proof of its validity. Ral Oaxaca was no different when he first heard about biomagnetism in 1988.
At that time, Oaxaca was in college, studying to be an electrical/mechanical engineer. He read about Dr. Isaac Goiz Duran, who had reportedly saved an AIDS patient using only magnets.
“I thought that it was a job or a kind of scam because humans have coexisted with magnets for thousands of years, and no records showed that kind of treatment with such results,” Oaxaca said. “I thought it was not true, so I decided not to follow it.”
Beginning six years ago, however, Oaxaca became a firm believer in the benefits of biomagnetism therapy, so much so that he’s starting his own business – Juvenia BioMagnetism – located at 408 East Main, Suite 3C, which is in the Tiger Office Park complex in Marshall.
“What I want is to help people,” Oaxaca said. “I want to show that this works, you know? I feel bad when I see somebody suffering from something. I’m very sensitive to that.”
Biomagnetism is an alternative therapy that helps to restore and maintain physical and mental health by balancing acidic and alkaline levels on specific areas of the human body, with the help of non-variable and medium-intensity magnetic fields.
“I scan the whole body (fully clothed) to find any pH imbalance,” Oaxaca said. “That’s how the magnets work. If you maybe have an acidic point, the magnet will detect it. Then I find the alkaline point somewhere in your body according to the pair, the area that associates specifically with certain points. Then you keep the magnets in position for at least 30 minutes so the body can correct itself.”
Oaxaca said the magnets are completely safe, noting that we live in a big magnetic world. He said he cannot work on someone with a pacemaker, hearing aid or some other kind of electronic device inside their body, though, for safety reasons.
“The earth is a magnet,” he said. “We are designed, according to magnetic fields, so that makes sense. It’s part of the earth.”
Oaxaca’s journey toward becoming a biomagnetism advocate really started after his marriage in 1991. His wife, Maria, had suffered from debilitating migraines since her childhood, and seeing this, Oaxaca said he felt frustrated and helpless.
“I started to learn more about migraines, trying to bring more options to her, but every single new treatment with every single doctor only partially worked,” he said. “Maria’s episodes of suffering were more painful and more often, and nothing seemed to work.”
In 2004, Oaxaca again read about the Mexican doctor (Goiz) and his claim of treating a large number of diseases through the use of magnets. As a strong believer in science, Oaxaca couldn’t give him any credit because of the simplicity of the screening and treatment.
“I thought it couldn’t be true,” Oaxaca said. “I used to say it had to be too good to be true.”
Soon after, however, Oaxaca began to lose precious family members to different, aggressive diseases, many of whom suffered through painful treatments that didn’t work. He was especially disappointed in the treatment his father received by local physicians. After seeing doctors four times for stomach pain and getting no results all four times, Oaxaca’s father begged to see a doctor in Mexico. Once there, the Mexican doctors immediately ordered a colonoscopy, which revealed that his father had stomach cancer. He died one month later.
“I used to get upset every time my relatives talked about sicknesses, symptoms, pains, treatments, doctors and how helpless they felt,” he said. “I became a compulsive web searcher, looking for help and knowledge in a world of information about syndromes, sicknesses, dysfunctions, symptoms, diseases, treatments, medications and infections and their causes.”
Oaxaca couldn’t look the other way this time when, in 2009, he learned that Dr. Goiz had expanded his clinic, was training people to attend to his growing number of patients and that he was treating severe migraines.
“A tiny hope of healing for my wife was knocking right at my door, and I couldn’t reject it a third time,” Oaxaca said. “My brother was also starting to develop migraines, so in 2010, I decided to go to Mexico City, talk to Dr. Goiz and get some answers.”
Goiz performed the therapy on Oaxaca and the following day, Oaxaca said he was sweating a lot and felt really good. Magnetism is the force that keeps order in the galaxy, allowing stars and planets to spin at significant velocities. It’s one of the most basic powers in nature.
“He explained that your body responds to a magnetic field,” Oaxaca said. “It was incredible. He was treating around 50 people in one day at his clinic. I said, ‘you have to show me how to do this.'”
Oaxaca decided to take the certified course, which included 12 hours of training a day for a month. During that time, he learned a great deal, including previous research done by Kentucky scientist Richard Broeingmeyer, who was chief medical for NASA in the 1980s. Broeingmeyer realized that astronauts returning from space would do so with one of their legs longer than the other, having been exposed to a changing magnetic field. Though he was forbidden to talk about his revolutionary new discoveries, Broeingmeyer presented a lecture for doctors in Mexico City. Goiz attended that lecture, which sparked his interest.
Goiz discovered biomagnetic pairs (BMP), which Broeingmeyer did not realize existed.
“A BMP is created when two specific areas in the human body, which are energetically connected, start to resonate with each other,” Oaxaca said. “One of them is acidic (or positive), and the other is alkaline (or negative). Once these pH variations are established, the human body could present a dysfunction and/or become subject to attack by microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungus and parasites, since bacteria and parasites live and grow in alkaline environment while viruses and fungus do so in acidic environment.”
By neutralizing the situation, the involved dysfunction is corrected since the undesired nuances cannot survive in a neutral pH environment.
“The cells become healthy, and the body starts healing itself surprisingly fast,” Oaxaca said.
Through continued research, Goiz has discovered that there are more than 600 different points throughout a body. By using magnetic therapy, numerous conditions can be improved, including allergies, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, back pain, bronchitis, cancer, chronic pain, depression, high cholesterol, poor circulation, psoriasis and much more.
“Every point has a variable of possibilities,” Oaxaca said. “For example, your head has five different possibilities to resonate with other points. They are fixed, so they are the same on every person. You just have to find which one of those five is the right one. Every person is different, so they’ll have different combinations of points.”
One he completed his training, Oaxaca was encouraged to treat approximately 200 people before returning to be educated at the second level. While still in Mexico, Oaxaca started with his mother, who felt weak and had pain in her knees, which kept her from walking very far. A day after the therapy, she walked a mile to the market and back, informing her son that she was more energetic and didn’t have any pain in her legs.
“I thought it was incredible,” he said. “It works. So I went on to treat my brother, my sister, my other brother, my cousins, grandfather, aunt, neighbors and friends.”
Oaxaca then tried the biomagnetism therapy on his wife. While she felt good afterward, Oaxaca wanted to follow-up with a second session when she started having her next migraine. But that day never came.
“We’re divorced now, but she hasn’t had any more episodes of migraines,” he said. “I treated my brother, and he hasn’t had them either.”
Oaxaca noted that the pharmaceutical industry does not want people to know about alternative therapies because they thrive on the billion-dollar profits from prescription drugs, many of which cause more harm than good, he said.
“The pharmaceutical industry is opposing this,” Oaxaca said. “They tried to kill Dr. Goiz in Mexico because he tried to make it public. But you can go through the web and find that 80-90 percent of drugs around the world are generating more problems than they’re fixing.”
Case in point is the fact that some doctors have been forbidden to release their research that reveals cures for cancer.
“This doctor in Houston, Texas, designed certain drugs that can cure cancer,” Oaxaca said. “He can only work in Houston, where he has an institute and lab just for him. Even without drugs, you can cure cancer, by eating the right things. There are so many nasty things that your body is not prepared to process, like artificial stuff, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and other things that have no real nutrients.”
