ISU announces fall 2019 dean’s list A total of 10,066 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2019 dean’s list. Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a grade-point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work. SMSU to add club shooting sports in 2020-21 Southwest Minnesota State University will add club shooting sports beginning in the 2020-21 academic year. The team will compete in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference with 20 other colleges and universities across Minnesota. There will be two seasons — a six-week season in the fall, and a nine-week season in the winter, according to club faculty adviser Mike Lenz, theater professor at SMSU. “The team will compete in several events — trap, skeet, five-stand and sporting clays,” said Lenz. Area Student Voice representatives announced at Lake Area Tech Lake Area Technical Institute has announced its Student Voice Representatives for the 2019-20 school year. Student Voice provides an avenue for student input in campus policy and other processes by establishing open dialogue between students and Lake Area Tech administration. Mustang Ice Classic Feb. 15 on Lake Sarah The second annual Mustang Ice Classic will be Saturday, Feb. 15, on Lake Sarah. The contest will feature over $10,000 in prizes, according to Mike VanDrehle, alumni director and event organizer. “We had our inaugural tournament in 2019 and it drew a good crowd of ice fishing enthusiasts.
