SMSU Foundation’s M4L Day raises $91,000

On May 1, the SMSU Foundation hosted the 2025 M4L Day (Mustangs 4 Life Day) with alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty, and staff rallying for Southwest Minnesota State University’s fourth annual day of giving. This year’s event raised $91,049 from a total of 390 donors. The 24-hour fundraising event is conducted entirely online. The platform allows Mustangs from across the country and around the world to support areas that mean the most to them. Gifts of all sizes become eligible for bonuses throughout the day. SMSU to host Children’s Theater and High School Theater Workshop productions

Southwest Minnesota State University, in partnership with Marshall Community Services and P.S. Productions, will host the annual productions by the SMSU Children’s Theater on Friday, June 13, and the High School Theater Workshop on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. Led by SMSU Theater Professor Sheila Tabaka since 2018, the SMSU Children’s Theater Workshop provides acting, production, and costuming opportunities for grades 3-8 and for grades 9-12 through the High School Theater Workshop every summer. The Mathematics Program at Southwest Minnesota State University will host the inaugural STEM Symposium 6-7 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the Upper Conference Center. The STEM Symposium Series will to celebrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. SMSU Natural History Museum grand re-opening open house April 22

The Natural History Museum at Southwest Minnesota State University will host an open house 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in Science & Math Building Room 107 to celebrate the museum’s grand re-opening following a remodel to the exhibit space. The new exhibits and interactive elements focus on the natural world of southwest Minnesota — the tallgrass prairie, birds, animals, ecosystems, and prairie pothole wetlands.
