What is your superpower? No seriously! … While I’m not talking X-ray vision or flying, what I mean is: What superpower did our creator endow you with? You have them, regardless if you’ve never intentionally thought about it. … I promise! I was at a board retreat this week when we were asked about our superpowers. We were required to come up with an answer, with the prompt that we could borrow skills or traits that others have complimented us on. A difficult task, right? But then there is also joy, isn’t there. This earthly life has a tendency to weigh on us, doesn’t it? After all, the constant media barrage we consume generally is vastly negative. Demonstrations of competing ideological positions. Name calling. Mistrust. It can eat us up if we let it. And then on the personal side, we suffer heartbreaks and we watch loved ones experience the same. Lord have mercy, how difficult is that! CDA meeting Monday The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #1291 will be having a meeting following the 5:30 p.m. Mass Monday at Holy Redeemer. Mass will include a memorial for the CDA members that have died this past year, and activities that are coming up will be shared. St. Mary’s spring salad luncheon St. Mary’s Cottonwood CCW spring salad luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15. Adults are $12, ages 6-12 $6 and 5 and under $2. Cold Stone ice cream available. Takeout available. Proceeds go to the church’s mission projects. All are welcome.

CCW spring salad luncheon The Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women will have its spring salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in Carlin Hall at Holy Redeemer Church.
