Nashville-based quartet presenting free local concert

Ground-breaking Nashville-based New Legacy Project will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Tracy Lutheran Church, 64 Rowland St. This is a non-denominational event and admission is free.

Formerly the Blackwood Legacy, they are best known for their intricate harmonies, Southern Gospel sound, and homespun humor. They were recently honored with nomination for both Fan Favorite and Breakthrough Artists of the year at the AGA awards show in Nashville.

New Legacy is led by Rick Price, who spent much of his 40-year career with the Grammy and Dove Award winning Blackwood Brothers, and who was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame with the quartet.

New Legacy is currently charting on radio with their latest singles “God of the Empty Grave” and “Come To The Water.” Their latest musical project, Doxology, is also being met with rave reviews across the U.S.

Willow Lake Church to have sing-along

On Sunday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. Willow Lake Church will open its doors for a sing-along. All are welcome to enjoy this historic landmark and stay for a Subway sandwich box lunch following the sing-along.

Located on the prairie, Willow Lake Church was organized in 1874, and the building was built in 1899.

The sing-along and family activities provide the Friends of Willow Lake an opportunity to share this rural historic landmark with others.

Fourth of July celebration is Wednesday at St. John Cantius

A Fourth of July celebration is Wednesday at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. Mass is at 10 a.m. Turkey dinner will be served form 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. The day includes kids’ activities, beer garden and a cash only raffle. Drawing is at 4 p.m.
