MARSHALL – Brad Verly and Kirsten Haukom announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Ed and Rita Verly of Marshall and Jeff and the late Pam Haukom of Marshall. Verly is the grandson of the late Francis and Harriet Dieken and (stepgrandson of Mary Dieken) of Marshall, and Anna and the late Gerard Verly of Marshall. Haukom is the granddaughter of Vin and Judy Bot of Minneota and Margaret and the late Lowell Haukom of Austin. Haukom is a graduate of Marshall High School and College of St. Scholastica. She is a physical therapist at Big Stone Therapies. Verly is a graduate of Marshall High School and St. John’s University. He works at Minnesota West Community and Technical College as a farm business management instructor. The couple plans a Sept. 10, 2016, wedding in Marshall.
