MPS to seek maximum preliminary levy authority

MARSHALL — This week, the Marshall School Board took action to set a preliminary levy for 2027. Specific figures weren’t available at Monday’s school board meeting, but board members voted unanimously to certify the maximum levy authority for the district. Lincoln County and Pipestone County are under an emergency quarantine for firewood and other wood products after the Minnesota Department of Agriculture confirmed emerald ash borer (EAB) in both counties. The MDA announced Monday that experts had confirmed the presence of EAB in Lincoln County after a property manager found the insects at a campground on the northeast side of Lake Benton. The S&P 500 was virtually unchanged, edging down by less than 0.1%, and is sitting 0.4% below its all-time high set last month.
