Power outage affects 1,000 customers in Marshall

MARSHALL — A power outage early Tuesday morning affected about 1,000 customers on the east side of Marshall. Marshall Municipal Utilities said the outage was caused by the failure of a main distribution feeder switch near East Lyon Street and Jewett Street. MMU electrical workers were able to restore power to customers by around 5 a.m., according to MMU. “We had crew members dispatched right away,” said Tony Mead, electric operations manager at MMU.
