PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Wabasso edges Cedar Mountain/Comfrey, 72-68

WABASSO - The Wabasso girls basketball team shot lights out in their game against Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Friday night, winning by a score of 72-68.

Jenna Frank was on fire from behind the 3-point line, connecting on nine triples to lead the Rabbits with 35 points. Maddy Guetter added 21 points as well for Wabasso while Gina Goblirsch had seven.

Guetter led in rebounds with 17 while Lindsey Bernardy led in assists with nine.

NEW ULM - The Marshall girls hockey team fell to New Ulm 3-2 on Thursday night.

The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a goal in the first two periods. Marshall then cut it to 2-1 with a goal from Rachel VanKeulen early in the third period, but New Ulm responded with a goal to take a 3-1 lead. The Tigers would get a goal from Izabella Hunsley late in the third, but couldn't get any more scoring on the night.

Emma Klenken recorded 41 saves on the night for Marshall.

Marshall (3-5) will face Windom Area on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
