YOUTH SWIMMING: Southwest Swim Club begins fall and winter season

MARSHALL – Southwest Swim Club kicked off their fall and winter season on Tuesday, with tryouts being held on Monday.

Swimmers can also make appointments to try out for the team. Swimmers can try out the program for free during the month of September. Anyone that can swim one length of the pool will make the team.

The team competes in Minnesota and South Dakota and will be hosting their home meet for the winter season on Dec. 9 and 10. This is a great chance for swimmers to show off their skills close to home and compete against swimmers from around the region.

Practices are held at the SMSU pool Monday through Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. Swimmers practice between 30 minutes and 90 minutes based on group they are in. Southwest Swim Club offers competitive swimming instruction for swimmers ages 5-18 in Marshall. Meets and practices are governed by USA Swimming and conducted by registered coaches.

More information about the program can be found about the team on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/southwestswimclubmn/.

Swimmers can also email coaches at dunnc6@hotmail.com for more information about joining the program.
