SMSU SOCCER: Mustang soccer to make North Dakota road trip this weekend to face U-Mary and Minot

MARSHALL - Southwest Minnesota State’s women’s soccer team will travel to North Dakota for the first time since 2014 as the Mustangs get set to take on U-Mary on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a match at Minot State on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
SMSU Quick Hits
– SMSU travel to North Dakota this weekend as they face U-Mary and Minot State in back-to-back NSIC contests this Saturday and Sunday.
– SMSU has used two different keepers this year, splitting time between sophomore Jessica Craigmile and Jenna Meyer.
– The Mustangs are the beneficiaries of ample senior leadership on this year’s team as Fabiana Piero and Emily Huddleston have combined for two of the Mustangs three goals on the season while Hartmann and Huddleston lead the team in total shots and shots on goal.

– Minot State will host Sioux Falls on Saturday, Sept. 30, before playing SMSU the next day.
– Minot State scored eight goals against Minnesota Crookston, tying for second-most in a match in school history.
– Eight different players scored a goal last weekend for the Beavers.
– Goalkeeper, Erin Rafferty, posted six saves and gave up one goal in two matches last week.
– Andrea Franco posted one goal and one assist on the weekend.
– Minot State kicked off the season with a 6-0 win at Black Hills State back in August before losing two straight.
