We owe military veterans respect

To the editor:

May is the month of the year that all veteran organizations proclaim as Loyalty Month. It is the month of the year when we honor all veterans. These men and women who have given their time to fight for all the freedoms we as citizens seem to take for granted. Some gave their lives and some came home with injuries and health problems leaving them with disabilities.

As American citizens we owe it to these veterans to pay them the respect and honor they deserve and to help them in any way we can. That’s what organizations like the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans do. When you see these organization members out with poppies in May, please support them, as the money they raise is used only to help all veterans.

May is also the month of Memorial Day on May 28 this year. Attend the services these organizations put on to honor all our deceased veterans from all the wars we have fought in.

God Bless America.
