Future hearings set for three in Marshall sex sting

MARSHALL — Future hearing dates have been set for three men arrested in connection with an undercover prostitution sting in Marshall.

Todd Mykle Roberts, 46, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court on Tuesday on charges of hiring or agreeing to hire a minor for prostitution, court records said. A hearing date for Roberts was set for Dec. 4.

Hearings for David Kent Onken, 55, of Hadley, and George Everett Scott Croucher, 29, of Sioux Falls, S.D., were continued to Nov. 20 and Dec. 4, respectively. Both Onken and Croucher are also charged with hiring or agreeing to hire a minor for prostitution.

All three men were arrested in Marshall in October as part of an undercover operation conducted by Marshall Police, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Brown/Lyon/Redwood/Renville Drug and Human Trafficking Task Force, and the East Metro Human Trafficking Task Force.

Criminal complaints filed against the men said they each responded to an online advertisement posted by an undercover agent posing as a 15-year-old girl. Each of the three men allegedly offered money for sex acts, and arranged to meet the undercover agent at locations in Marshall, including a public park.
