Wild and fun
Koo Koo Kanga Roo entertains children Thursday in Marshall
MARSHALL — Children here know how to have good time. Just ask Bryan Atchison with Koo Koo Kanga Roo.
“This a party crowd,” Atchison said.
Atchison and Neil Olstad just finished an hour long show of jumping, dancing and shouting at the Schwan Community Center for the Performing Arts Thursday afternoon. Children from Park Side Elementary, Little Cubs, Marshall Area Childcare, Southwest Minnesota State University Daycare attended the show.
“This is a good crew,” Atchison said. “Normally this young, they are quiet. This shows the teachers and principals are super rad. They are wild and fun.”
According to Atchsion, Koo Koo Kanga Roo travels nationally and internationally. But it only tours in Minnesota during the months of January and February.
Atchison and Olstad met at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and became friends. They started performing as Koo Koo Kanga Roo in front of adults in nightclubs in 2008.
“This is our ninth year. We didn’t play for kids until our third or fourth year,” Atchsion said.
Atchison said their routine is “super clean” and full of dancing.
Koo Koo Kanga Roo also performed a evening show at the Schwan Community Center for the Performing Arts for the general public.
