Blood drive Nov. 5 in Tyler
Avera Tyler Hospital will host a critical needs blood drive on Thursday, Nov. 5. Donations will be collected from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4:30 p.m., at the hospital, 240 Willow Street in Tyler.
“Every unit donated here stays part of the care we give our neighbors. When the community steps up, our patients receive seamless care when they need it most. We’re grateful to everyone who gives 30 minutes of their day to make that possible," said Ken Versteeg, executive director of the Community Blood Bank.
A single donation takes about 30 minutes from check-in to snacks, with the blood draw itself lasting only a few minutes. One donation can help more than one patient, making each donor’s gift go further.
As a thank-you, every donor will receive a $20 Dairy Queen gift card. To schedule a donation, donors can visit Community Blood Bank's website at ww.cbblifeblood.org, select "Donate Now," "Blood Drive Calendar," and choose Nov. 5, or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222.
Donors should bring a photo ID, eat a healthy meal, and drink plenty of water beforehand. Donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh 110 lbs. or more and be in good general health.
