Pipestone National Monument needs help on National Public Lands Day. On Saturday, Sept. 26, volunteers can get out in the tallgrass prairie with park rangers from 9 a.m. to noon to help take care of this important cultural site.
Volunteers can choose between collecting native seeds that we will replant next year or removing invasive species that crowd out the native plants. No experience needed -- they'll provide the tools and training. Just bring sturdy shoes and dress in layers for the weather.
There will have gloves available, but feel free to bring your own as well.
