End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum open house
End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum will have its annual open house Saturday. There will be free coffee and cookies for the day, as well as waived admission fees.
Speaking at noon will be guest speaker Teresa Peterson, Ed.D. Peterson is an author, storyteller, and gardener from the Upper Sioux Community. As a Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota, she will be sharing her people’s history and culture in what became, through colonization, war, and eradication, southwestern Minnesota. Her presentation will begin at noon. She is the author of “Perennial Ceremony: Lessons and Gifts from a Dakota Garden” and co-author of “Voices from Pejuhutazizi: Dakota Stories and Storytellers.” The open house, as well as the presentation, will be free to attend. All are welcome to attend.
Veterans coffee July 7
The next monthly veterans coffee will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Lyon County Museum, 301 West Lyon Street, Marshall. The monthly coffee is the first Tuesday of the month and is open to all veterans. Enjoy coffee, water, juice, and treats while visiting with fellow veterans in the ice cream shop at the museum.
