Thirty-five teams of students from across the region gathered on March 4 for the Minnesota Subregion Knowledge Bowl meet. The event, held at the SMSU football suites, featured teams from multiple area schools competing in one written and four oral rounds that tested their knowledge in subjects ranging from science and literature to history, math, and current events.

Knowledge Bowl, a long‒standing academic competition in Minnesota, challenges teams of three to five students to collaborate under pressure. The meet opened with a written round that set the initial rankings, followed by a series of fast‒paced oral rounds where teams buzzed in to answer questions. Coaches from around the region helped facilitate the event, ensuring smooth transitions between rooms and rounds.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated not only academic skills but also teamwork and sportsmanship. At the end of the meet, top‒placing teams earned the opportunity to advance to the regional competition, where they will face an even broader field of competitors.
