Road closure announcement

North Fourth Street will be intermittently closed for tree removals by the City Street

Department, weather permitting, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the following locations: North Fourth Street between West Lyon Street and West Redwood Street; North Fourth Street between Elm Street and North Whitney Street

Access will be restricted. All vehicles are recommended to be parked on adjacent

streets during this time. No through-traffic will be allowed within the segment during

each individual tree removal and clean up.

Science & Nature Conference 2026

The Science & Nature Conference aims to introduce students to a variety of science-related topics. Participants will engage in three interactive sessions, followed by an energetic performance by Professor Norm Barnhart, who has captivated audiences with his Amazing Science presentations for numerous years. Throughout the day, students will enhance their critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and observation skills while exploring real-world concepts in life science, Earth science, chemistry, technology, and beyond.

This conference is scheduled for May 12 in Marshall, with SMSU serving as the host site. Be sure to register your students in grades K-8, by April 7.
