In Recognition
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to Pride in the Tiger Foundation for their generous support of our fifth-grade classroom project. Their donation has made it possible for my students to engage in a meaningful baking initiative that will serve our local first responders, including EMTs, firefighters, and Hospice House residents.
This project represents far more than simply preparing baked goods. It provides my students with invaluable opportunities to develop essential life skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom. Throughout this endeavor, they are learning to adjust recipes based on serving sizes and dietary considerations, plan comprehensive shopping trips within a budget, and understand the importance of careful preparation and organization. These practical mathematics and planning skills are being applied in real-world contexts, making the learning both relevant and memorable.
Beyond the academic benefits, this project instills in our students a sense of civic responsibility and community connection. By preparing treats for those who serve and protect our community daily, the students are learning the value of gratitude and service to others. They are discovering that even young people can make a positive impact and show appreciation for the dedication of our first responders and those in need.
The support from Pride in the Tiger Foundation has transformed what could have been a simple classroom activity into a comprehensive learning experience that benefits both my students and our broader community. Their investment in our youth demonstrates a commitment to education that extends beyond traditional academics and into character development and community engagement.
On behalf of my fifth-grade class and myself, I extend our heartfelt thanks to Pride in the Tiger Foundation for believing in this project and in our students.
