Pioneering Pipestone County 3-part speaker series
The Pipestone County Historical Society in collaboration with the Edgerton Public Library will be hosting a three-part speaker series on Pioneering Pipestone County. Presentations will be on Tuesday, Feb. 4, Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Tuesday, March 4. All presentations will be at the Edgerton Public Library located at 811 1st Ave. West in Edgerton and begin at 6:30 p.m. Presentations are free to attend.
This collaboration is being made possible by a Better Together grant funded by Prairielands Library Exchange. Prairielands is a state funded nonprofit whose mission is to support libraries across 18 counties in southwest Minnesota.
The Feb. 4 presentation will feature speaker, Bill Hoskins, director of the Siouxland Heritage Museums in Sioux Falls, S.D. Hoskins’ presentation, entitled “Boys in Blue, The Grand Army of the Republic; a Civil War Veterans Organization” will include information on the Edgerton Branch of the GAR.
