Meredith Swan named regional director of Philanthropy for Avera

Meredith Swan has been named the new Regional Director of Philanthropy in the Avera Marshall region and began her role in October.

As a part of the Avera Foundation, Swan will develop and enhance relationships with area individuals and families who turn to Avera for their care and wish to provide philanthropic support for health care in the region.

“We are thrilled to welcome Meredith, whose contagious positivity and passion for health care will make a significant difference for those who count on us for their care,” said Dzenan Berberovic, chief philanthropy officer for Avera. “Each year, we are blessed to be joined by thousands of individuals and organizations who choose to support those in our care at Avera.”

“Through the generosity of others, the Avera Foundation is able to make life better for those we serve — our patients, residents, and their loved ones,” said Debbie Streier, regional president and CEO. “We are glad to welcome Meredith in this regional role with the Foundation. Her knowledge in philanthropy, involvement in the community and genuine interest in getting to know people make her the ideal fit for this role.”

Swan comes to Avera from Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) where she served as the director of Annual Giving for nearly four years. Originally from Jordan, she came to the region to attend SMSU where she double-majored in biology and chemistry and earned a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. She now resides in rural Balaton with her husband, Al, near the family farm.

Starting at $3.95/week.
