BIG SOUTH BOYS MARSHALL — Deacon Wing and Ethan Wendorff’s top-3 finishes helped the Marshall boys protect their home course in a Big South Conference golf division event on Monday. The Tigers had four golfers in the top five of the 42-player field to beat out runner-up St. Peter by six strokes. Willmar 10, Marshall 1 WILLMAR — A pair of strong offensive innings by Willmar were too much for the Marshall softball team to overcome in the first game of its non-conference doubleheader on Monday. The Cardinals surged ahead with a five-run third inning and padded their lead with three more in the sixth en route to a 10-1 win over the Tigers. TMB 9, E/SWC 8 TRACY — Griffin Zick walked off a win for the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton baseball team, literally, on Friday against Edgerton/Southwest Christian. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Zick took ball four to force across the winning run, handing the Panthers a 9-8 victory. COTTONWOOD — Nolan Leopold, Tavyn Larson and Tyson Lightfoot helped lead the Wabasso boys track and field team to a first-place finish at the Lakeview Invitational on Thursday. Larson had a pair of first-place finishes in jumping events while Leopold and Lightfoot each had one first-place finish with a handful of other top-3 finishes to lead the Rabbits to victory.
