Canby shut out at home

CANBY — Brennan Giese’s 75 rushing yards weren’t enough to generate momentum for Canby as it fell 40-0 in a football game against MACCRAY on Friday. Giese led the Lancers offensively with nine carries for 74 yards, and Hunter Kack caught five of his 10 targets for 65 yards. Owen Peterson threw the ball 26 times, completing nine attempts for 116 yards and a pair of interceptions. Canby falls to 0-2 and next takes on juggernaut rival Minneota (2-0) on Friday at 7 p.m.

SMSU soccer drops contest with Bemidji State

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-2-0 NSIC) dropped a 3-0 decision to Bemidji State (2-1-2, 1-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon at Mattke Field at the Schwan Regional Event Center. WINONA, Minn. - The No. 12 ranked Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team (7-2, 1-1 NSIC) recorded its first conference victory of 2026 over Winona State (2-6, 1-1 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon at McCown Gymnasium, winning by set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-14. Lakers finish seventh at home tournament

COTTONWOOD — Playing host to a volleyball tournament over the weekend, Lakeview volleyball finished with a 1-3 record and seventh-place finish. The Lakers faced a challenging slate of opponents throughout the tournament, dropping close matches to Adrian-Ellsworth and Windom before falling to New London-Spicer. Mustang volleyball hosting first matches at home; Gameday Round Up on Saturday at noon

MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team will host its first matches of the season this weekend inside the PE Gym for 'Alumni Weekend'. MARSHALL - The Southwest Minnesota State volleyball team (7-2, 1-1 NSIC) dropped two spots to No. 14 in the recent AVCA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, released Monday afternoon. SMSU split the first two NSIC matches of 2026 over the weekend. On Friday, the Mustangs suffered a four-set defeat to No. 5 ranked Concordia-St. Paul, before defeating Winona State on Saturday in four sets.
