Ubl’s 39 digs lead RRC to third straight win

SLEEPY EYE — Amelia Ubl had a standout defensive performance with 39 digs for the Red Rock Central volleyball team on Monday night. The effort culminated in the Falcons’ third straight win, topping Sleepy Eye 22-25, 25-8, 25-22, 26-24 in non-conference play. In addition to Ubl, the Falcons got defensive production from Kendra Schroeder’s 23 digs and Natasha Erickson’s 18. Victoria Pankonin also logged a block in the front row. ADRIAN — Looking to pick up its third win of the season, Canby volleyball hit the road for a matchup with Adrian/Ellsworth. The Lancers fell in a sweep but had several players put together strong individual performances in the loss. Junior Karli Weber led Canby with seven kills, while Jada VanEngen and Tatum Christianson added three kills apiece. MINNEOTA — The Minneota volleyball team continued to show its dominance Tuesday night, sweeping Dawson-Boyd on its home court 25-8, 25-3, 25-6. Libby Sussner led the Vikings with four service aces as Minneota finished with 12 aces as a team. ST. PAUL — Claire Kruse, Jasmine Murphy and Katelyn Leibfried all finished in the top 20 of Saturday’s Roy Griak Girls Cross Country Invitational, leading the Marshall Tigers to a podium finish. The Tigers finished with a team score of 116, falling to runner-up Hillsboro/Central Valley via tiebreaker.
