LUVERNE — The Marshall VFW Orange 15U baseball team took second place in its first tournament of the season over the weekend, picking up a 12-0 win over Luverne and an 8-0 win over Jackson before falling to New Ulm Silver 16U in the championship, 4-2. Mauer Leysen pitched a complete-game no-hitter while the Marshall VFW Orange 15U team caught fire at the plate to cruise to a 12-0 win in five innings in the first day of the Luverne tournament Friday afternoon, against Luverne. Leysen tossed all five frames and finished with eight strikeouts while allowing no hits, with just two walks.
