WILLMAR -- Katelyn Leibfried, Claire Kruse and Jasmine Murphy swept the top 3 spots for the Marshall girls cross country team at the Willmar Glacial Lakes Invitational on Saturday, leading the Tigers to a first-place finish in the six-team field.
Marshall finished with 42 points, beating out Class A No. 3 St. Cloud Cathedral's 58, and Sartell rounded out the podium with 73 points.
Leibfried was the individual champion of the meet with a time of 19:31.7, followed by Claire Kruse at 19:45.0 and Jasmine Murphy at 20:09.9.
Kaitlyn Soupir also placed 17th out of 50 runners in the event with a time of 21:36.6, and Jenna Sanders rounded out the Tigers' scorers in 21st at 21:54.7.
While not counting toward the team scores, Brooklyn Purrington also placed 23rd at 21:57.1 and Maddyson Hasert placed 35th at 23:12.9.
Marshall next competes at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria for the Lion's Meet of Champions on Saturday at 10 a.m.
