COTTONWOOD -- A strong first set didn't give the Lakeview volleyball team enough momentum to pull out a win on Thursday night in Camden Conference play against a Renville County West squad that received votes in the latest coaches poll. The Lakers won the first set 25-15, but the Jaguars won out from there, 25-22, 25-17, 25-11.

Aubrey Pederson and Adison Hinz led the Lakeview defensive back row with 13 digs each while Allison Isaacs took care of defense at the net with four blocks. Jersey Stensrud and Taylor Hinz also contributed nine and eight digs, respectively, and Taylor Hinz's two blocks tied Jaela Schmidt and Josie Spaude for second on the team.

Taylor Hinz was also the team's primary attacking engine with 11 kills, followed by seven from Avery Hinz. Nicole Schwartz and Khya Gawarecki contributed 16 and 15 set assists, respectively, with Gawarecki also serving up three aces.

Lakeview falls to 14-10 and looks to snap its three-match slide when it hosts MACCRAY (15-14) for its regular-season finale on Friday at 7 p.m.
