Guetter’s 23 kills not enough as Wabasso falls in five

By Daniel Lins 1 min read

REDWOOD FALLS -- Kenley Guetter's 23 kills weren't enough to get the Wabasso volleyball team in the win column in its non-conference match against Redwood Valley on Thursday. The Rabbits dropped the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-13, before bouncing back with a pair of 25-23 wins to force a tiebreaker. Yet, the Cardinals took set 5 18-16 to send the Rabbits home with a loss.

Wabasso had a balanced back-row effort in the loss. Alexa Remiger's 19 digs led a group of four Rabbits in double figures. Britta Brand and Cassie Bliss added 17 and 14, respectively, while Guetter chipped in another 10.

Bliss' 23 set assists were second to Lanna Janeiro-Dolan's 24. On the finishing end of those assists, Cendyll Daub logged 11 kills and Melany Kramer added eight.

Wabasso falls to 13-11 with the loss, ending a three-match winning streak for the Rabbits. They close the season out on the road on Friday, taking on Renville County West (23-4) at 7 p.m.

Starting at /week.
