YME Volleyball falls in four sets to Hancock

GRANITE FALLS -- A strong third set wasn't enough to spark a comeback for the Yellow Medicine East volleyball team Tuesday night as it dropped a non-conference match against Hancock in four sets, 25-12, 25-14, 19-25, 25-18.

Abbey Bones set a strong tone at the net for the Sting, finishing with a team-leading two ace blocks, and tying Bailey Mortenson with a team-leading seven kills.

Kresley Enninga also made a major defensive impact with 15 digs on the day, followed by nine from Chasity Schmitz and eight apiece from Kourtney Peterson and Charlotte Paslawski. Peterson also contributed 24 set assists and three service aces.

YME falls to 0-2 on the year and looks to get into the win column when it goes on the road to take on Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (1-2) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
