YME battles but drops conference game to KMS

GRANITE FALLS -- The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team wasn't able to pick up its first win of the season on Tuesday, falling 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in Camden Conference play.

Kourtney Peterson and Charlotte Paslawski put together solid defensive games in the back row, tallying 15 and 10 digs, respectively. Paslawski's 18 set assists were also a team high. In the front row, Abbey Bones and Hanna Bjordnal contributed four and three blocks.

Bones led the Sting attack with six kills.

Yellow Medicine East falls to 0-5 on the year and travels to Madison for a matchup against Lac qui Parle Valley (1-6) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
