WABASSO -- A strong first set wasn't enough to spark the Wabasso volleyball team to a Tomahawk Conference win over Cedar Mountain on Thursday. The Rabbits claimed the first game 25-20, but Cedar Mountain rattled off 25-15, 25-22, 25-23 wins from there to claim the match.
Kenley Guetter was outstanding offensively for the Rabbits in the match, tallying 15 kills. Cendyll Daub, Cassie Bliss and Kylee and Ava Samyn each also finished with 5 or more kills, set up by Lanna Jeneiro-Dolan's 20 set assists and Bills' 17.
Britta Brand led the defensive back row with 19 digs, followed by 11 apiece from Alexa Remiger and Guetter. At the net, Daub finished with four block assists and an ace block.
Janeiro-Dolan served up a trio of aces in the match, and Guetter and Bliss each added another pair.
Wabasso falls to 2-5 on the season with the loss. The Rabbits host a home invitational over the weekend, taking on Montevideo (1-4) at 9 a.m., Pipestone Area (1-8) at 10:45 a.m. and MACCRAY (4-2) at 2 p.m.
