Ubl’s 39 digs lead RRC to third straight win

SLEEPY EYE -- Amelia Ubl had a standout defensive performance with 39 digs for the Red Rock Central volleyball team on Monday night. The effort culminated in the Falcons' third straight win, topping Sleepy Eye 22-25, 25-8, 25-22, 26-24 in non-conference play.

In addition to Ubl, the Falcons got defensive production from Kendra Schroeder's 23 digs and Natasha Erickson's 18. Victoria Pankonin also logged a block in the front row.

Erickson was also an excellent facilitator for the Falcons, tallying 30 set assists in the match. Schroeder was the team's primary finisher with 10 kills, followed by nine from Paige Wondercheck and eight from Lilly Batalden.

Zoey Keck contributed four service aces and seven kills in the match.

Red Rock Central now improves to 3-6, righting the ship after dropping each of its first six matches. The Falcons return to action on Tuesday when they host Edgerton (2-10) in Lamberton at 7:15 p.m.
