Tigers sweep team titles at TMB/WWG Invitational

TRACY -- Marshall cross country has enjoyed a successful start to the season, and that success continued at the TMB/WWG Invitational.

The Tigers had a strong showing on both the boys and girls sides, with both teams finishing first overall.

On the girls side, Claire Kruse led the way for Marshall, capturing first place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:39.1.

Kruse finished nearly a full minute ahead of the runner-up, who crossed the finish line in 20:39.5, highlighting an impressive individual performance from the Marshall standout.

The Tigers also came away with a strong individual finish on the boys side, as Charles Mueller-Thompson placed second in the 5,000-meter run. He finished with a time of 17:33.1, coming in approximately 10 seconds behind the first-place finisher.

Marshall’s boys team claimed the team title with 40 points, while the girls team dominated the team standings with 18 points to also finish in first place.

With both teams continuing to find success early in the season, the Tigers will look to build on their strong showing as the cross country season continues.
