WILLMAR -- On a dreary Friday night, Marshall football hit the road for its first away game of the season, taking on Willmar and falling by a score of 34-14.
In a matchup Marshall head coach Terry Bahlmann knew would be a test, the Tigers struggled to generate offense.
Marshall finished with 67 passing yards and 75 rushing yards. Sam Meier scored both of the Tigers' touchdowns.
Defensively, Tyler Kraft led Marshall with six tackles.
The Tigers will return to action Sept. 25 with another road test against Hutchinson. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
