BENSON -- Claire Stratmoen and Kate Gruwell put together valiant defensive efforts as the Dawson-Boyd volleyball team fell 3-0 to Benson in a non-conference matchup.
Stratmoen tallied a team-leading 13 digs while Gruwell added another 10. Lilly Lee also made an impact at the net with two ace blocks and a block assist, and her four kills trailed only Ragan Viessman's five.
Emma Stotesbery recorded 10 set assists in the match.
Dawson-Boyd falls to 0-2 with the loss and looks to get into the win column when it opens Camden Conference play on the road against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (1-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7:15 p.m.
